December 2014

Happy New Year! Wishing all of you a happy, healthy and prosperous 2015!
Well, going back through all of the pictures in our phones and camera, I was able to find just a few to share (yep, 65 to be exact...oh my!). I hope you enjoy this peek into some of our fun-filled holiday adventures.
The month of December began with a special delivery all the way from the North Pole. Landon was so excited that Ollie (the elf) returned, especially since he brought an early gift from Santa.
Santa thought Landon might like the LEGO City Advent Calendar to help him count down the days until Christmas. Inside each door was a fun surprise to build that went along with the Christmas scene on the box. Every day, Landon practically jumped out of bed and ran downstairs to discover what was behind each door.
Welcome back Ollie! xo
Rainy day fun!
What better activity is there than putting together a gingerbread house on a cold, wet day in December?
Someone snuck a few licks while decorating. Mmmm!
Landon said, "Mommy, this looks just like the gingerbread house on the box."
Yep...nailed it! ;-)
We also visited Disneyland a couple of times in December. It is such a wonderful time of year to visit. Landon enjoyed watching the Christmas Parade. We are excited that Santa renewed our Disneyland passes for next year. Yahoo!
Landon couldn't wait to visit Santa!
Landon was telling Santa about all the items on his Christmas Wish List.

Then, Landon put his list in Santa's mailbox.
Making sure it was in there...
and didn't fall out the back. Haha :-)
On December 18th, we got to attend Landon's holiday concert at school. Similar to last year, each class rotated through and sang a song. Landon's class performed a gingerbread poem and song.
The children were all smiles and so excited to be performing.
After the concert, there was a potluck dinner. Landon couldn't be happier that he found some hot chocolate!
Last year, we visited Irvine Park Railroad and took a night ride on the Christmas train to visit Santa. This year we continued the tradition. Seeing this place through the eyes of a child is truly magical. We will definitely be going again next year!
Santa: "What would you like for Christmas?"
Landon: "You already know Santa...remember?"
Santa: "Oh yes, I remember...you want a Barbie doll."
Landon: Hahaha... "No...remember...I gave you my list."
Landon also got to listen to Mrs. Claus read, The Night Before Christmas,
decorate a really big cookie,

and do some ice fishing.
Santa got Mike a really nice mountain bike as an early Christmas present. I guess he was on Santa's good list. ;-)
(Stay tuned for some action shots of Mike off-roading on my next blog post.)
Landon helped me make cookies for Santa. These are his favorite cookies to make (yum, yum!). We also left a carrot for each reindeer and said our "goodbyes" to Ollie.
Christmas morning!
Santa left a room full of gifts, including The Polar Express train chugging around our Christmas tree...
and all the items on Landon's Christmas Wish List (yes, his list included a hamster).
Time to open presents...yippee!

Gaga, Landon and Mommy.

Showing Grandma his new pet.
I'm pretty sure Mrs. Claus picked out the cutest hamster...ever!
 Please meet Peanut Nibbles Newman.
The boys trying to figure out how to play Landon's new game, Trouble.
On December 31st, Daddy took Landon to Wonder of Dinosaurs at the Laguna Hills Mall. There were dinosaurs to look at, dinosaurs to ride, a dinosaur maze, dinosaur inflatables, etc. Landon had a great time; they spent all afternoon at the exhibit.

On January 2nd, we took Landon to Legoland for the first time.
He loved driving his own electric Lego car.
We made it just in time to enjoy a Holiday Snow Day filled with chilly fun.
We went snow tubing,
threw snowballs at colorful Lego targets,
and enjoyed running around and playing in the snow.

Exploring Miniland USA.
During the holidays, Landon also enjoyed hanging with his friends in the 'hood.
This picture cracks me up...was it a warm or cold day!?

A little air hockey with Jacob.
More snowy fun at church. Look who we ran into...Joey!
Enjoying a gift from Santa (Mario Kart 8)...
with his friends.
Cheers to an amazing 2015,
The Newmans (and Peanut, too)
