First Day Of Preschool

Today was Landon's first day of preschool! How did this happen? It seems like yesterday that we were bringing our sweet baby boy home from the hospital. Well, for such an important event in Landon's life, I knew we needed to capture it with a professional photographer (eh, hem...not me!). So, I asked Melissa of Lissarie Photography to snap some photos of our cutie pie in front of (and around) his new school last weekend. If you remember, she took photos of Landon a couple years ago for the Healing Evan fundraiser. She is amazing and I LOVE all of the pictures she took of our little man. Here are a few of my favorites:

Isn't he just so handsome? ;-)
Well, Landon had a great first day at preschool! Mommy and Daddy were a bit teary and had to take a number of last minute "peeks" before we left. He was all smiles and was so happy to be at school. Also, we were able to meet his teachers yesterday and I'm pretty sure we couldn't have asked for better teachers. We felt comfortable knowing he was in a caring environment and would be okay without us. When we returned to get him, he came running at me with a "Mommy!" and a big hug. Melt my heart!! He told us about a crocodile song that he learned and kept saying, "Chicka-Chicka-Boom-Boom" during the afternoon/evening (from the book by Bill Martin, Jr.). When asked if he had fun, he said, "Yes, all of my friends are there." He said his favorite part of the day was reading books. I love that the teachers write down what the children did during the day on a white board, so we were able to ask Landon specific questions about his day. Today, the children: "got to know their new friends and began to be familiar with their classroom routine; laced the first letter of their name and decorated it with stickers; squeezed, molded and rolled playdough to strengthen their hand muscles; and explored the sensory table with colored rice, pom poms and scoopers." We are so happy that Landon had a great day and we are so proud of our little man!
p.s. If you are waiting for pictures from our Maui trip, I'm sorry for the delay, I'll try to post them soon.
