November Fun!

Yes, I realize it is the end of December, but I am just now catching up with November pics. The past couple months have been super busy with fun and exciting activities.
Here are a few highlights from November...
Julia had a costume birthday party, so Landon was excited to wear his dragon costume again. Mr. Joe organized some entertaining games for the children.
Landon wasn't too sure about the "mummy wrap," but he went along with the fun.
Someone else wasn't too sure about the "mummy wrap" either. Every time I look at this boy's face, I have to smile (he's like...why is this little green dragon wrapping me up in toilet paper?! heehee).
Landon loves a party with a piñata...
especially a party with TWO piñatas!
While Daddy was working, Landon and I visited the Discovery Cube in Santa Ana to explore the Thomas & Friends: Explore the Rails exhibit.
Checking out the gigantic Island of Sodor train table.
Landon is fascinated with maps and was showing me the map of Sodor Island.
Hi Thomas...
and Percy!
Landon enjoyed this activity the best...he got to load Percy's coal box and fill his boiler with water to make him "chug."
Doing a little grocery shopping in the simulated grocery store.
Landon's first season of soccer ended in November.
Here is a great pic of Coach Daddy in action!
This pic was taken after the team's final game.
The next weekend, we celebrated with an end of season party.

Coach Daddy gave a final speech and handed out trophies.
The boys were SO excited about their trophies.
(Aidan had to leave, so he isn't in these pics).

Another Mommy and Landon outing while Daddy was at work. We visited Centennial Farm in Costa Mesa. Nothing better than a free and educational morning outing with this cutie!
Hi cow...
and little piggies.
What...this is how cotton grows?!
Landon really enjoyed the presentation on the farm's oxen. He learned many fun facts about their oxen team. When asked if anyone had a question, of course, Landon had a couple. One of the ladies couldn't believe Landon was only 4 based on his questions. ;-) Love my smart little cookie!
Coming soon... a bunch of December pics.
Much love,
The Newmans

Our Little Dragon

We hope you had a safe and fun-filled Halloween!
This year, Landon wanted to be a dragon.
He loved his costume and had fun wearing it around the house before Halloween.
Here is our little dragon in his school parade. He was so excited about the parade this year. I'm sure you can see the excitement...

Cutest (and happiest) little dragon...ever!
Early Halloween evening, we headed down the street for our annual party. We chatted with friends, ate pizza and treats, took a group photo of the children and went trick-or-treating when it got dark.

All of the neighborhood children in front of Chloe's house.
A very scary photo bomber in the back...yikes!
Of course, Landon wanted to start trick-or-treating at our house. Gaga was passing out treats!
Hi Mr. Joe!
Landon liked all the friendly houses and he skipped all the scary houses. ;-)
Checking out his loot.
Landon wanted to pass out candy, so he took over Gaga's job. He was SO excited! He liked passing out candy just as much as collecting it.
Happy Halloween from the Newman family! xo

Go Thunderbirds!

It's time for soccer!
While we are well into the soccer season, here are some pics from Landon's first game. We signed him up for AYSO soccer and Mike volunteered to be an assistant coach. Well, they were in need of additional coaches, so they asked Mike if he was willing to be a head coach instead. Of course, Mike said, "Yes." He is working hard and is doing an amazing job! Plus, Landon thinks it's pretty awesome that his Dad is the coach. Our team is named the "Thunderbirds" and we have 5 players on our team. In the pics, you will only see 4 players because one player wasn't able to make the first game.
 Our cute little Thunderbird.
 Coach Daddy!
 The team (minus Aidan).

 GOAL!!!
(okay, not really...haha ;-)
Before each game, there is a UK coach that teaches the children soccer skills through fun games/activities.

After the UK coach leaves, the two teams play a game. The goal is for the children to have fun, so the teams don't keep score.

Some team building with Coach Newman after the game.

Then, the teams line up and give each other high fives.
A cool treat after the game on a VERY hot day!
 Ahhhhh...refreshing!
Outtake!!
I know, I made it look like all of the children were engaged all of the time, but they are just 4 and 5 years old. I love this pic! Yes, this pic was taken during the game...Landon and Vincent were just hanging out in the soccer net. Some of the children (Landon included) were also running around chasing a dragonfly and Landon was running along the sideline waving to all his fans. Honestly, they are adorable!
I know this isn't the best pic, but Mike snapped this pic on a different day with all 5 players. Such sweet boys!
