Fun With Our Son

On Sunday, Mike, Landon and I went to visit Mishelle and Jeremiah at their house. It was fun getting to see them again and telling them all about how Landon is doing. Mishelle was so sweet and made us the most delicious lunch: bread, salad and homemade lasagna. The lasagna was spectacular (and no, I am not exaggerating)! The rest of the week was quite peaceful and relaxing. We just hung out at home and played with Landon, read him some stories and watched him sleep. Oh, and I included a few pictures from my amateur mini "photo shoot."
I'm sure you can see where Landon gets his good looks from. ;)
This is Landon's swing. He only likes when it goes back and forth very slowly, so rather than turning it on, we just gently push it. It also plays music and nature sounds which Landon likes.
This is Landon's very cushy Papasan Seat. It bounces, vibrates and plays music. Landon seems to really enjoy it! It's funny when he hits the little animals hanging from the toy bar. :)
Landon is getting some tummy time to strengthen his neck muscles.
Landon's favorite activity...sleeping. I love the position of his hands!
These are my three favorite photos from my mini "photo shoot."

Seriously, how cute is this little guy?

Birthday Boy and Girl

This week two very special people celebrated their birthdays. My Dad's birthday was on Tuesday and my best buddy's birthday was on Friday. On Tuesday, my Dad came over to spend some time with Landon (and me too, of course :). On Wednesday, Auntie Terri came over to visit Landon (and me too...I think :). Friday afternoon, Landon had his first "real" outing to meet Auntie Terri at Native Foods to wish her a happy birthday. Landon really wasn't aware of his outing though, as he fell asleep in the car on the way over and stayed asleep until we got back home. Since my Mom was working on Tuesday, my Mom and Dad both came over on Saturday for a continuation of my Dad's birthday celebration. I have also included some other cute pictures that Mike and I took during the week.
"Happy Birthday Grandpa!"
"I feel so loved!"
"I wanted to wish Auntie Terri a happy birthday, but I was so sleepy."
"Ahh, this is the life!"
"Hmmm, I'm thinking in my sleep. I'm a very smart baby!"
"I'm so cozy!"
"Snuggling with my Daddy at sunset."
"I'm just hangin' out. Don't you like my cute outfit?"
"This toy is interesting. Look, I'm grabbing it."

Landon's First Week Home

Mike and I have been having fun spending quality time with Landon during his first week home. He is an amazing little boy! We feel so blessed! During the week, we took Landon to his first pediatrician appointment with Dr. Shannon, my friend Kathrine came over for a visit, we took him to get circumcised, played with rattles and finger puppets, danced to the music on "Toddler Tunes" and Landon slept, slept, and slept some more.
On our way to see Dr. Shannon...

Dr. Shannon said that Landon is doing great!

My good friend Kathrine thinks Landon is really cute! Landon really likes her too!

Oh no, we are on our way to the hospital to get Landon circumcised... poor little guy!
This is Landon's favorite sleeping position (with his arms straight up).
Spending some time in his Pack 'n Play (with his arms up, of course).
I love how he's holding his pacifier with his mittens on. He's quite talented!

Landon's Arrival!

Early Thursday morning I received a text message from Jeremiah saying that Mishelle is going into labor. They were going to eat breakfast, take a shower and head over to the hospital. Mike and I decided to do the same. Mishelle and Jeremiah arrived at the hospital around 6:00am. We arrived about an hour later, expecting to be there in plenty of time (as everyone kept telling me the first child always takes a while!). Anyway, much to our surprise Mishelle was in active labor when we arrived and was about to deliver Landon. A nurse peeked her head out the door and hurried me into the room. Mishelle was only in active labor about 20 minutes, when out came Landon. She was such a trooper; she didn't even want an epidural!?! It was so exciting; I even got to cut the umbilical cord! What an amazing experience. Michael had to wait in the lobby, but I immediately went out and showed him all the pictures! Thursday and Friday, we enjoyed spending time with Mishelle, Jeremiah and Landon. They are such an amazing couple who truly made a selfless decision! We respect them and cherish them with all our hearts!
Landon Michael Newman arrived on April 1,2010 at 7:22am. He was 7lbs and 19.25 inches long. He is healthy and happy and settling into his new home.
Landon snoozing in his crib. "Ahhh, this is nice!"
He really likes his bassinet/sleeper and his organic cotton blanket from "Auntie" Terri!
"Hi everyone, aren't I cute?"
This is Mike's mom, Sharon. On Thursday, "Gammy" said, "This is the best day of my life!"
These are my parents, Dennis and Donna.
This is "Auntie" Terri.
"It almost looks like I'm smiling." :)
"I'm wrapped like a baby burrito."
"Mmmm, yummy!"

"My first hair wash and I'm not even crying!"
