MIA

Hello friends and family!
I am not sure where the time has gone, but the past few months have just flown by! It seems that I have been "Missing In Action" on my blog lately, and I apologize. I know I have to go all the way back to our summer vacation at the Aulani, but with Thanksgiving just around the corner, I couldn't resist posting Landon's kindergarten picture and letting you know that all is well and I will be back to blogging soon. How very thankful we are for this amazing little guy. We truly have been blessed beyond measure these past 5 years. He is our heart and our ray of sunshine. We are so proud of all his accomplishments. He is a joyful boy with a kind and caring heart. Honestly, he can light up a room with just his smile!
We wish you a wonderful Thanksgiving spent with your loved ones! May all the memories you make this Thanksgiving fill your heart and home with happiness.
Love,
The Newman Family

4th of July

We hope you had a happy 4th of July! What a gorgeous day; the weather was absolutely perfect! As in years past, we watched the Ladera Ranch parade, joined our neighborhood block party and watched the spectacular fireworks show.

Let the fun begin! The parade always starts with our local firemen and police. Can you feel the excitement in the air?
Landon brought one of his old Easter baskets (Lightning McQueen) to collect all of the candy/treats that the participants throw toward the crowd.

Thinking this should be the inspiration for our outfits next year!?! ;-)
Landon waving to everyone in the parade.
Later in the day, we headed down the street to join in the water activities.
First, the children used water launchers to cool their friends off a bit. ;-)

Time to relax and dry off.
Next, it was time for the water balloon toss.

These were Landon's partners in the water balloon toss. They won...yippee! The boy on the right, Nick, and his friend were so sweet to ask Landon to be their partner. Nick has always been SO kind to Landon, even when he was just a baby.
Last, the children had a water balloon fight. Landon didn't want to hit anyone with a water balloon, so he just threw them into the street. Love him so much! Sweetest boy ever!
To keep with tradition, we watched the fireworks from our balcony. Such a great day!

Tooth Fairy Fun!

Shortly after Landon turned 5, he started to complain that his bottom teeth were hurting. Well, of course, we headed straight to the dentist (not even thinking he could possibly have wiggly teeth at 5 years old!?!). To my surprise, an x-ray showed two adult teeth starting to come up. Over the next couple of weeks, his two bottom teeth emerged behind his baby teeth.
Then, one day while we were playing upstairs, his first tooth fell out. SOOO exciting! He had mixed feelings, but we had already talked about what was going to happen and once he saw my excitement (and my fabulous little happy dance), he started to smile.
We placed the tooth in his adorable tooth pillow and anxiously awaited a visit from the Tooth Fairy.

The Tooth Fairy left a VERY sparkly 5 dollar bill and a tooth receipt. Landon was expecting coins, so thankfully, he lost his second tooth a few days later and the Tooth Fairy left a sparkly 2 dollar bill and a dollar coin. ;-) Let me tell you...it was a very exciting week in the Newman household!

Easter 2015

While enjoying a rainy summer's day, I continue to work on catching up with my blog. Before we head off to Hawaii in a few days, I will leave you with some super cute Easter pictures (with the cutest picture at the end...try not to peek!).
Each year, Landon is getting more excited to dye Easter eggs (although he refuses to eat them...haha ;-).
We seem to have a photo bomber flashing some rather sharp teeth.

Having so much fun and giving himself a cheer!
Taking a little break while the eggs were in the dye.
Easter morning...yippee!

Landon loves his new bunny. In fact, Peter the Rabbit has joined Landon's collection of animals that he sleeps with each night. (I just counted and he sleeps with 9 animals...oh my. We are currently trying to narrow it down to 3 animals for our Hawaii trip.)

Off to find some eggs...
Landon was super speedy quick while hunting for eggs.

He found candy, toys, money in the golden egg and jokes. Landon was very excited that the Easter Bunny left more jokes this year. He LOVES to tell jokes! Currently, he has three jokes that he likes to tell people:
1. What type of music do balloons not like? (pop music)
2. Where do cows like to go on a Friday night? (the mooovie theater)
3. How do you make a tissue dance? (put a little boogie in it)
I have discovered that it is always good to know a joke! It brings such a huge smile to Landon's face when someone tells him a joke after he tells someone his jokes.
A pre-breakfast snack. :-/

And, if you did not peek, here is the cutest picture ever...right?! This was Landon's spring school picture. Well, I still have more blog posts to catch up on, but it will have to wait until after our vacation. Aloha! xoxo

Go Dodgers!

Oh, where to begin? I know it's been a while since I last posted, so I thought I would start with spring baseball pics before fall soccer begins. ;-) We registered Landon for Ladera Ranch Little League 2015 Spring Baseball, Tee-Ball Division. He started playing in February and the season ended in May. Mike was the team coach and he truly did an outstanding job! We had practice once a week and a game every weekend. The emphasis was on having fun and skill development, not on keeping score. As you can see, we were the Dodgers! There were 11 boys (including Landon) on the team.
Our adorable Dodger on Little League Picture Day.

Since Daddy was the coach, Landon got to pick what number he wanted. He chose "5" since he was about to turn 5 years old.
The eleven little Dodgers all ready for their individual/team pictures.

A little chat with coach Daddy.
Mr. Organized...coach Daddy bought soft yellow balls (so the kids wouldn't get hurt) and buckets for his little Dodgers.
Time to practice!

Game time!
Cutest little catcher...EVER!

Go Landon!

After every game, the kids got a special treat. Frozen treats were their favorite!
Our end of the season party was at Selma's Chicago Pizzeria. Yahoo! It was a great season with great friends (that I just condensed into one post with 37 pictures...haha)!

Each Dodger received a trophy, team ball that included all of the boys' names (made by Mike's artist friend), an M&M/chocolate chip cookie that Landon wanted to make for his friends, and a candy Lei made by the Team Mom.

Cheers to a wonderful season! Next year, Landon will be in the "Coach Pitch" division.
Currently, Landon is excitedly awaiting his trip to Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa in a couple weeks. I will try (??) and squeeze in one more post before heading out on our vacation.
