Christmas 2011

What? How can Christmas already be over!?! All of the planning, excitement, rushing, shopping, wrapping, cooking, cleaning... and now it's so....calm. It feels a little weird. But, what a wonderful day filled with fun, laughter, joy and family. We hope that your day was as special as ours!
Santa was sneaky and brought me an early Christmas present (a fancy camera!), so I thought I better make him something extra yummy...
Oreo Truffles (Mmmm).
I guess Santa liked his treat because he dropped off a lot of presents.
Landon was so excited about his new fire truck.
"Oooooh!"
He had fun pushing all of the buttons and talking on the radio.
He kept saying, "Hello, hello" (hey-yo, hey-yo).
You might notice a Cars theme in many of these pictures. Landon has seen one movie so far... Cars... and now he can't get enough of the Cars characters. He gets SO excited whenever we are out and he sees anything that has to do with Cars. It's too cute!
Checkin' out his stocking. We (um, Santa) had so much fun shopping for stocking stuffers.
"Whoa, it's Mater!"
Landon kept climbing in and out of his truck all day. We have to keep practicing the driving part, but he's doing better and drove down the hall today.
Don't you just want to squeeze those cheeks? He is soooooo cute!
Here are a few family pics...

Grandpa and Landon playing with Cars (of course!).
And, reading some books about Cars (of course!).
I love Landon's expression when he opened the first box to his train set.
Woohoo, this is so cool!!
The pretty Grandmas. :)
Does Santa read my blog? Yep, a shopping cart just like Samantha's (well, except it's not pink...heehee).
Landon loves his Cars books. We have already read them a number of times (as requested per Landon...of course!).
Uncle Mitchie was having a hard time getting Buzz Lightyear out of the box, so Landon thought he would lend him a hand. (Landon is such a good little helper!)
A great time was had by all!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from our family to yours!

Craft Time!

A couple weeks ago, I enjoyed some time with my friends Bernadette and "Auntie" Terri. They were very sweet and got Landon some Christmas gifts. Well, today was a little chilly and we were in need of some indoor activities, so Mike and I thought Landon would have fun putting together one of his gifts...
a kit to make a gingerbread man.
Landon coming over to check things out.
p.s. Landon's cute little table was an early Christmas gift from Mommy and Daddy (we couldn't wait to give it to him!)
"Is this a track for my race car?"
"What? This is a cookie!?! You should have told me that at the beginning!"
"This is delicious!"
Landon ate an arm, Mommy and Daddy ate a foot, then we found Landon with the cookie in his mouth again. :) Okay, so this was Landon's first "real" cookie and I guess he was just too excited.
Look at that messy little mouth.
"Mmm!"

Bubbles!

Bubbles, bubbles and more bubbles!
The other day I decided to buy a new brand of bubble bath. Well, the directions said to add 3-4 capfuls to produce a "medium" amount of bubbles. Yikes...there were SO many bubbles I couldn't stop laughing. I had to show Daddy and get some pics, of course.
"Wow Mommy, this is a lot of bubbles!"
Landon playing with his fire truck...haha. :)
Not pictured: about 10 other toys that are hiding under the bubbles.
"Mommy, this is SO fun!"
p.s. If you ever buy California Baby Bubble Bath, only use 1 capful or it will take you a VERY long time to de-bubble your baby and bathtub. ;)

Holiday Fun!

This afternoon, there was a holiday party for the children at the end of our cul-de-sac. There was even a visit from Santa.
(Seriously, how fun is our street!?!)
Santa was so nice to bring the children early Christmas presents!
Santa's not too bad from afar. :)
"Hi Santa!"
But, up close and next to Santa is a different story.
"Santa, you are a little scary, but can I ring your bell before I jump down?"
Group photo with Santa.
"Santa, I really like Samantha's pink shopping cart. May I have one for Christmas, please?"
The children painted a poster for Santa.
Landon and Samantha were loading and unloading groceries.
Just hangin' in the bushes with the neighbor children...
and havin' fun!

Ho, Ho, Ho!

Happy December! We have been busy getting ready for the upcoming holiday.
*The outside of our house has lights and decorations...check
*Our Christmas tree is up...check
*The stockings have been hung by the chimney with care...check
*We visited Santa...check
*Christmas cards have been ordered...check
*A few presents have been bought...(uh, oh...no check)
Okay, so we still have some shopping, holiday meal planning and figuring out what cookies to bake for Santa. But, we still have 21 more days. :)
Landon said, "Hi," gave Santa a high five, and said, "Bye" (a number of times as he made a B line to the exit), but wasn't too excited to sit on Santa's lap. This was Landon's best photo with Santa. I love how he has a candy cane in one hand and a fire truck in the other...too cute! (I suppose it helped prevent him from climbing out of Santa's lap.)
Holiday cheer and love to all! xoxo
