Happy 5th birthday to our sweet boy! What an amazing and wonderful little boy you are! For the past 5 years, you have brightened our days and filled our lives with joy and love. You are sensitive, caring, polite, friendly, smart and happy. You love to run, ride your bike, play t-ball, read, play games, put puzzles together, color, do science experiments and, of course, play Mario Kart 8. This year, you have learned how to write your name without help, ride a bike without training wheels, you moved to a big boy carseat and made your very first best friend. You are also signed up for kindergarten next year. Mommy and Daddy are so proud of you and can't wait to see what the next year brings. We love you to the moon and back!
One of Landon's favorite shows is Jake and the NeverLand Pirates. So, when we asked him what type of birthday party he would like this year, he quickly came up with a pirate theme. I found this adorable costume at Barnes & Noble and had to buy it for Landon. One day, we headed down to Dana Point and took some pics in front of one of the tall ships maintained by the Ocean Institute. I'm pretty sure every single person that passed by us had to say something like, "Ahoy there, matey!" or "I like your ship." etc. It was too cute...Landon loved all of the attention.
After our "photo shoot," Landon wanted to go for a walk. We ended up at the Baby Beach, and in just a few minutes, the costume was off and Landon was soaked. (I was able to snap a few shots before that happened though. ;-)
We decided to have Landon's birthday party last weekend, since next weekend we will be celebrating Easter. I have a TON of amazing party pics that I will be posting soon!
All our love,
The Newman Family
