Preschool

This past week, Landon and I started Mommy & Me preschool. It is a three-hour class every Wednesday for the next four months. As soon as I heard about this class, I signed us right up! I feel it will be the perfect transition for starting regular preschool in the fall (okay, okay...a good transition for ME).
How did he get SO big!?!
Class started with a "free flow" exploration of various toys, games and crafts.
Instead of a sandbox, this was a "rice"box. So fun!
There were three tables set up with different activities. This table had Playfoam (modeling foam).
At this table, Landon rolled marbles covered in paint across a piece of paper to make a kite.
At the last table, Landon painted popsicle sticks for a Valentine's Day craft that he will finish next week.
I love how focused he was on each activity!
Landon has a great imagination and was enjoying the play kitchen.
After clean-up time, we had circle time. Each child sat on a carpet square, listened to a short lesson with picture cards and a felt board story and sang some songs. Landon did a great job sitting on his square, trying to answer the teacher's questions (at one point, he jumped up and said, "I know, I know, I know!"), and following along with the words and motions for the songs.
After circle time, the children had a snack.
He enjoyed some grapes, strawberries and goldfish crackers.
 Time to play!
Okay, fun for Landon, but this is where I am "supposed" to go back to the classroom for a parent discussion with the teacher. (Gulp...what? Leave Landon?) There is another teacher and parent helpers that rotate each week to watch the children while the rest of us meet with the teacher. So, this will be the area that will benefit me most for next year, when I have to drop Landon off at regular preschool (What? Gulp! Teary-eyed Mommy!).
Miss Wendy...such a sweet teacher! Looking forward to going back next Wednesday!
