Puppy Love

One of the reasons I love being back in Ladera Ranch is that I am neighbors again with my buddy Teri. We live within walking distance...yahoo! Anyway, my buddy Teri got a new puppy three weeks ago. The puppy is a Shorkie and her name is Pixie. Landon and Pixie are quite fond of each other.
Landon must have thought Pixie was a bit thirsty.
He loves to share!
Apparently Landon likes to make sure all puppies/dogs are well-hydrated in the Newman household (whether real or stuffed). :)

Keeping Cool

For some summertime fun, Mike bought an inflatable pool for our backyard. As you can see, Landon loves the pool...oh wait, no...he loves the hose! Yep, Landon loves running water, so he was extremely happy to help fill the pool.
"This is SO fun!"
Can't you just feel his excitement?
"Woohoo, this is cool uncle Mitchie!"
"What...two hoses!?! This is my lucky day!"
We also got our Ladera Ranch Membership cards, so we have access to all the pools and the waterpark. A couple days ago we visited our local pool. It has a splash pad, play area and wading pool for children.
This is the splash pad...

the play area...
and the wading pool.
Such a great place for children! Landon really enjoyed it!

4th of July

Mike and I hope everyone had a fun and safe 4th of July!
"Let's get this party started!"
"I love my flag."
"Happy 4th of July everyone!"
A snuggle with my cutie pie before...
we headed to the Ladera Ranch parade.
Ladera Ranch clubs, community groups and families are able to participate in the parade.
So, we thought we would join in the fun. Sometimes we were in the parade and sometimes we watched from the side.
"Ooh, a dragon."
It was a bit warm, but super fun!
Then, we headed home for Landon to take a nap and for me to make a yummy treat for our street party.
The families on our street have been very friendly and welcoming. We have already been to a birthday party, baby shower and now a 4th of July party.
All three of us had a great time...
just hangin' out.
"Mmm, my first hot dog."
Mike and our next door neighbor (a.k.a. Mike's BFF) chatting the evening away.
Landon watching a water gun fight and...
enjoying some sidewalk (or should I say, "street") chalk.
Finally, it was time for Landon to get ready for bed while Mommy and Daddy watched the fireworks from the balcony. Well, someone decided for the first time that he didn't want to sleep in his crib, so while Landon slept in our bed, we watched the fireworks from our bedroom window.
It was a wonderful 4th in our new home!
