Remembering Evan

A little over a week ago, Landon and I participated in a fundraiser by Lissarie Photography for sweet baby Evan. I heard the story of Evan through Melissa (the photographer) who is a friend of a friend. The story touched my heart since it was about a young boy around the same age as Landon. Anyway, this young boy went into cardiac arrest and fell from playground equipment at the park. Sadly, about a week after the accident, baby Evan went home to be with the Lord. Melissa, a close friend of Evan's family, organized a photo shoot to honor Evan and help the family. She bought some balloons that were released by the last little girl at the end of her photo shoot. As you will see, Landon loved the balloons (and I practically had to pry them out of his hand when our shoot was over). Melissa did a wonderful job capturing Landon's personality and many of his different expressions. Here are a few of my favorite photos. Enjoy!

Happy New Year!

Happy 2012!
The new year started with some beautiful, warm weather. It was perfect for trying out Landon's new water table (thanks Auntie Terri!). Our little water boy loved it...
as you can tell by the smile on his face.
We threw in a few extra toys and Landon played until he was nice and soaked.
So happy!
Landon is enjoying all of his new books.
Oh, how cars will travel. When I tell Landon it's time to eat, he collects as many of his cars as he can before heading over (he got a little help from Daddy on the day I took this pic). Actually, he does this wherever he goes. These cars have been in the bath, to restaurants, to the beach, grocery stores, etc. Best $13 we have ever spent (they came with a Cars 2 book and play mat as well).
The only drawback of these cars is that they often get lost. This is what happened today when I was looking for missing cars in the couch. The torn apart couch turned into a fort for Landon and his cars. Daddy and Landon had a super fun time playing with the fort.
"Hi Mommy, how did you know I was in here?"
Landon is having a great time playing with his new train set. A few months ago, our next door neighbors were getting rid of their train table and asked if we wanted it...of course! So, Mike bought a Thomas and Friends playboard and Gammy bought a train set and voila...it's the perfect addition to Landon's playroom!
Can you see some of Landon's cars on the train table...heehee. Yes, he likes to play with his trains AND cars on the table.
Such concentration!
I had to throw in these pictures just because I love them. :)
When I was taking Landon's picture for our Christmas card, he was having so much fun running back and forth across this bridge. It looks like he is dancing in this picture. I mean really, how cute is this kid? (and NO, I'm not biased...ok, maybe a little...heehee)
Jumping for joy!
Love this little guy! (p.s. Can you believe this pic was taken with my old camera...nice!)
