Ahoy there, mateys!
Captain Landon's pirate crew had a swashbuckling good time celebrating his special day! Enjoy this peek into Captain Landon's 5th birthday party.
I had a great time planning and researching pirate party ideas. First, the pirate crew got to follow a mini treasure map to our front door.
Then, I made a map of the party activities. The activities included: pirate bingo, dig for buried treasure, pirate ship bounce house, cake/cupcakes and a hunt for a hidden treasure chest.
I rolled up the map and placed it in a bottle for Captain Landon to take out at the beginning of the party. Captain Landon and his crew followed the map through the various activities.
First up, pirate bingo!
The pirate crew included Captain Landon and his mates: Kellen, Ryan, Tyler, Julia, Lucy and Adel.
The children colored a pirate picture and had some juice before heading outside for our next activities.
Ready to head out!
Next up, "Find Ye Buried Treasure!"
Each child needed to find: 5 coins, 2 shiny necklaces, 2 jewels and 1 Ring Pop.
Next on the map, the pirate ship bounce house! Mike gets an "A+" for this idea. Not only for the idea, but also finding a bounce house shaped as a pirate ship! The children LOVED it!!
Hi Ryan! Isn't he adorable? He is on Landon's t-ball team and will be going to kindergarten with Landon next year. His parents are so nice. In fact, a few of the pics in this post were taken by his mom, Vivian.
This is Kellen. One day, Landon came home from school and announced that he has a best friend. Honestly, he couldn't have picked a better best friend. Kellen and his family are the nicest people you will ever meet. We have had a couple playdates at the park and Big Air. In fact, Kellen had his 5th birthday party the day after Landon's. It was super fun! Kellen will also be going to the same kindergarten as Landon.
Lucy and Julia are two sweet neighbor girls. Julia's brother, Joey, joined the party later after his baseball practice.
Sweet Tyler (in the green shirt) is on Landon's t-ball team and they both attend the same preschool. Tyler also has the nicest family ever!
Time to head back inside for cake and cupcakes...yippee!
Adorable and delicious!
Landon invited everyone to help him blow out his candle. He really is a thoughtful boy! Adel is the boy on the left in the lime green shirt. Adel, Kellen and Landon are all in the same pre-k class and love to play together. They get so excited to see one another in the mornings at school.
Yummm! I love Landon's rosy cheeks. The children played hard in the bounce house and were a bit tired and sweaty. :-)
After cupcakes, juice and some fruit, the children were ready to find the treasure chest. The map showed that it was hidden upstairs.
Each child got a pirate bag filled with candy and pirate tattoos.
Finally, each child got to take home a pirate ship cookie as a "thank you for coming" gift. (No, I did not make them. I ordered them from Etsy.)
After the party, everyone hung out and spent some time in the backyard chatting, looking for leftover treasure in the sandbox and jumping in the bounce house.
Once our guests left (except for the grandparents and uncle Mitchie), it was time to open presents!
Landon had the best time ever! Thank you to the grandparents and Uncle Mitchie for all the "behind the scenes" help. ;-)
Happy 5th birthday to our sweet boy! We love you so much! xo
